How to Replace a Sliding Patio Door HandleRemove the two screws affixing the handle to the door. **NOTE: Do not remove the screw on the thumbturn, as the lock reach-out will fall into the door.**Removing the backing plate.Rotate the handle 90° clockwise, lift the handle up, then rotate it back and remove the handle from the door.Install the new handle. The installation process is the opposite of the removal process.Finish re-installing the handle by inserting the two screws through the handle and into the backing plate.
