A beginner’s Guide To wall coverings
Commonly seen are available machine-printed wall coverings in width ranging from 18 inches to 27 inches. Most are pretrimmed and many are prepasted. As a general rule, the more colors used to print the material, the higher the price.
Vinyl coverings are the most durable. They are resistant to stains and dirt and can if necessary be scrubbed. The best vinyl coverings are fully vinyl instead of vinyl-coated paper. Both types tend to stretch in case of stress, but will not tear. Because they are not porous, fungus can develop in the child paste, but mold-resistant adhesives will prevent this.
In addition to vinyl, wall coverings can be foil, cloth, and cork veneer. They can be spotted, Emboss or multi-strip murals. Consult your dealer about special installation techniques or adhesives that are required for the cover you choose.
