There are also some methods to repair large holes.  The first is to use a triangular cap for holes that are too large to cover with tape, but not large enough to require cropping to the studs.

1. Cut a patch plaster, beveled edges towards the rear of the piece.  Then draw the outline review around the hole (the damaged area) and cut the dry plaster wall to match with.  Bevel these edges also make sure, that the patch are nested in the opening but do not fall through.

2. Use a screw wood large as a temporary identifier.

3. After compound spread around the edges, push the patch into the hole until is cavity around 1/16 inch and soften the compound.

4. After the substance dry, tape and finish the patch to match the surrounding wall.

Another method for applying patches large holes appealed for the purchase of a plaster layer of aluminum square patch (for their rigidity and moisture proof-ness), tape and sticky back easily stick to the wall of the mesh.  Come in sizes ranging from four inches by 4 inches, all the way up to 8 inches by 8 inches.  These patches of plaster are a bit expensive, but bien-vale saved installation time.  You simply pasted them to the damaged area and then the area with clay composite.
