The biggest challenge you faced when replacing a damaged ceiling-tile is one that matches.  If you are lucky, whom the ceiling tile installed have saved a few extra tiles for such an occasion.

The trick to replacing a tile is the top lip of the grooved edge of the new tile cutting.  Once you have the top lip of the Groove cut off, you can print the tongue edge in the grooves of the adjacent tile and run the patch tile in place.
