Hello, we we re-doing our shower. We’re now tiles onyx of 12 x 12 on shower walls. Our contractor guy is using cement board, but we are not the layers above cement and tiles (I want to say something like the membrane of the Kerdi), said. It is fair or trying to trim? Thank you.

If the area behind the walls of your shower is clean and dry, the use of cement board is what should be necessary between the walls and the tile.


The contractor may want to look at using a mortar which is designed for this specific use LaTeX…


Kerdi Membrane would certainly be called for if the contractor has been using right drywall instead of cement board.
