It’s the time of year when many people decide to freshen up their home. Most of us would call this the spring clean and after the winter, we take advantage of the fact that the warmer weather is coming so we start to clear out cupboards and wardrobes etc. It is at this time of year when we can throw out items that we have not worn for the past year.

If you live in a village there will probably be a fete or show during the summer months. Many of these events have a stall whereby you can donate furniture and accessories, knowing that the money raised will help towards the upkeep of the village green or the community hall.

 

These events are also an ideal place to find a number of items for your home. The good thing about these events is that nearly everything for sale here is in excellent condition. If you don’t have a lot of spare cash, then you can find what you need for the home at a bargain price and you can also get rid of items that you don’t want, freeing up space in your home.

 

You may also find that in a tight community, furniture is passed from one home to another by groups of mothers. If the group has similar tastes and are of a similar age, then it can work really well. The great thing about this is that the group gets a lot of enjoyment and the furniture will have a much longer life; best of all, it doesn’t cost anyone a penny.

 

When it comes to contemporary furniture, nothing beats white furnishings. So if you ever feel like you need a change, a white bedside table or even a white dressing table can be just the ticket.
