Prefabricated equipment Station routes F.C. Møller Denmark through renewable energy
Denmark is currently upgrading its network to meet increased demand. It is to add new plants and reliability and Energinet wants to improve the appearance of some of their stations and upgrade for future flexibility. Design of F.C. Møller for the new gas insulated switchgear station (station of GIS) in Vejen, Jutland will carry renewable energy from a wind farm near a new high voltage kW 400 cable that connects Kasso in Southern Jutland in Tjele in central Jutland.
The station is composed of precast panels of zinc that is arranged to create a sloping roof and a folded outer surface. The result is a light structure with “gills” that work to let the light of the day indoors. The design changes strong, sculptural in appearance throughout the day under the Sun creates a play of light and shadows. Design energy efficient and window insulation to minimize energy loss and improve the conditions of working indoors. The entire program will serve as a model for the construction of future equipment stations throughout the country.
