Budget for a Bungalow
To renew a dated look, a Mexican bungalow avoided the typical local colours and expensive accessories. “I focused on how it was going to be used,” said designer Sandra Espinet. With the possibility of selling the property soon, the owners asked for a neutral design. “I decided to make it acceptable to anyone and not too specific,” added Espinet.

Front of a cuisine that had not been updated in more than two decades, Espinet “changed everything.”Everything had to go, said. Discolored wood cabinets, dated appliances and countertops White had adorned the former kitchen, along with a side rather than an island counter. Despite the obvious need to start again, Espinet outraged one greater challenge: a small budget
“As a designer of luxury, always stay with more expensive products,” said stone. “It was good to take the time to learn that most main products are really great”. Alder wood cabinets and granite countertops were chosen and made locally to reduce the price. “You have to know your area and its sources”, Espinet advised to buy locally.
The money that would be spent in a wine cooler was put toward equipment, and wine is now stored on the island of new. Since not they can be easily woodworking equipment, these elements make up most of the costs. Above the island, hanging glass with a metallic finish couple with most palettes.
The new independent island gives the kitchen a focal point and a more modern design. “I believe that the more Islands are updated when you can walk around them in the kitchen,” said stone. “It is life open and gives you a little more than one loft feeling.” A darker finish distinguish the island of lighter cabinets and backsplash.
Covering the walls between cabinets, tile backsplash has a simple do and a simple goal. “There is no any discomfort,” said stone. Tile puts the focus on the hood, which is the main motif of the kitchen.
“Turned out a bit of California with touches of Mexico,” said stone. The campaign embellishes the palette of cream, Brown and burnt Orange kitchen. With a mountain outside the front door and the ocean two roads back, the colors embrace the rustic colors of the mountains rather than the blue of the ocean.
“We use neutral for the base, but the upholstery is colors of the mountain,” said stone. “That creates a little bit of texture without going wild and screaming that we’re in Mexico”. Espinet team of designers took his knowledge of the area and made an effort of team scour the area for less expensive but the quality of the materials.
“I think that’s the beauty of this kitchen,” said stone. “It is that you can get a great kitchen at very good prices.”
