Jun 13, Bathtub Drain Replacement
A replacement bathtub drain is enough is quite easy to accomplish task…. I recently replaced a lift and lock drain tub in my house! The entire task took less than 30 minutes…
The first step in the process was to remove the old bathtub drain mechanism. Since the brains of the lift and lock is screwed into the existing drain, the former mechanism had to be removed. To get the old drain out, I used a pair of needle nose pliers and a screwdriver to apply leverage them to drain Assembly to remove it.It took only a few minutes to remove drain, be sure to remove the assembly very lentement.Une time drain assembly is removed, remove all putty of the plumber who is around the bathtub drain hole at the bottom of the tub… to see the photo on the right.
To place new stopper drain Assembly, you will need some new plumbers putty, and of course the new drain of baignoire.La photo left shows the plumbers mastic and the new drain in the tub… all loans to… install putty plumbers must be cancelled in a long and thin column… and then placed in the tub with brains…. see photo right…
Once the putty is placed, the last step is to bend the new drain in the bathtub drain hole….Be sure to bend slowly and placed flush with the bottom of the bathtub drain Assembly… clean the mastic from the edges of the drain… then your replacement drain bath is complete!
