This is a Replacement Lock comparison for a discontinued Pella / Cifial Single Point Euro Mortise Lock.

This first image is an Old Style Single Point Mortise Lock used by Pella andhas a 2-3/16 inch backset.

This Replacement Lock for the Old Style Pella Single Point Lock has a 2-3/8 inch backset.

The difference between backsets is only 5mm and should not effect the functionality of the lock.
You will however need to enlarge the existing holes for the spindle and cylinder to fit properly.

Another minor difference between the two locks is their faceplates. In the image below, you can see the Old
Style has Rounded Corners and the New Style has Squared Corners. This means that you will need to chisel
out a small section of the door to ensure the New Style Replacement Lock fits exactly. An easy way of doing
this is to use a razor blade to scratch your measurements into the door and then simply chisel out those small
sections until the New lock fits exactly.

Pella Old Style single point lock and New Style comparison

The Trim Hardware, used with theOld Style lock, is different than the Replacment Locks Trim.
The Old Style Cylinder has a square hole on the interior side that slips into place on the interior plate.

If you replace the Old Style Mortise Lock with a New Style, the old Handleset will NOT work.
You will need a replacement Handleset because the cylinders are much different.
